The door, on the left center of the loges, is
where the elephants and other performing animals, at the Shrine
Circus, came in to the auditorium. There are still special steel
braces, in the ceiling, where the trapeze artists connected their
equipment. |

The Hand Painted mural in the lobby: (from City Govt. site) Two New Deal Era projects are being updated with the use of grant funds. The El Pomar Foundation and the Gay and Lesbian Fund for Colorado are funding the conservation of two wall murals painted in the City Auditorium. The murals were a project of the Works Progress Administration and were painted by two locally known artists – Archie Musick and Tabor Utley. Located in the lobby of the Auditorium, the murals have been exposed to years of dust, smoke and exhaust. The conservation treatment involves cleaning the murals, stabilizing cracking paint and repainting chipped areas. The conservation treatment will ensure the protection of these classic works of art for decades to come.
